I am a lifelong resident of Greenfield, Ohio being born in the local hospital, raised here and graduating from the McClain High School in 1969. At the age of 12, my friend invited me to attend the youth group at the Greenfield Church of Christ where a dynamic youth minister, along with a great congregation, led me to accept Jesus as my Savior. I have been attending this church since that time. Upon graduation, my plans were to go to the Cincinnati Bible Seminary to be a preacher but due to circumstance out of my control, I did not go. I worked at the Gossett Company as an office machine mechanic for 8 years. Then was in life insurance for 5 years. Finally, settling on working at the Greenfield Printing and Publishing Company for 33 years. I met my wife, Pamela, while in high school and we married in September of 1969. We have three children: Nate, Brenda, and April and we are blessed with 9 grandchildren.
I have served this church as a Worship Leader since I was 16; SS Teacher; Deacon and Elder while also singing in a gospel quartet, the Singing Disciples, for 29 years. I was one of the founding group of volunteers for the Greenfield Area Life Squad and served it for 28 years. I have actively been involved with the prison ministry, Kairos, for 12 years at the Ross Correctional Institute in Chillicothe, Ohio. Also, my wife and I have been involved in local community activities as well as area ministries. My passion has always been to be a preacher of the Gospel. Through the course of these years, I have had several opportunities to preach at this church and various other churches and always felt that someday, God would use me as a minister of the Gospel. In 2013, the printing company, now RR Donnelley & Sons, decided to close our local plant. It closed the doors on May 6, 2013 and was the first time ever that I had been unemployed. Not sure what was next, I trusted the Lord to guide me into a work He wanted me involved with. So, I worked around the church at various things and continued to pray for the Lord’s guidance. In February 2015, I received a call from one of the Elders, while I was attending a Kairos event, and asked me to take a position as an Associate Minister to the Seniors. I was thrilled with that request and accepted. I have been serving in this capacity since then, being ordained into Christian ministry on June 14, 2015. It has been my pleasure to serve the Lord in this capacity. I love visiting our people and especially those in the hospitals and nursing homes. I volunteer as a Chaplain at the local nursing homes and our local hospital. I am excited to see what God wants to do through our church in our community. I believe the answer to the problems we have in found in God’s Word and desire to help people learn God’s Word and apply it to their lives. I look forward to working together to show His love and declare His truth through His people here at the Greenfield Church of Christ.
